Meticulously cast from premium SS304 (CF8) or SS316 (CF8M), our valve housings and discs provide superior natural resistance against chemical corrosion, pitting, and fluid erosion. The interior structure features a fully backed, renewable elastomeric or polymer boot seat. When the polished disc swings into the closed position, it compresses the seat liner uniformly to create a bubble-tight, zero-leakage shut-off. Outfitted with an ISO 5211 top-mounting pad, these valves easily accept manual handles, gearboxes, or automated pneumatic and electric actuators.

A: In small-bore lines (" to 1"), the internal fluid path is narrow. Because a butterfly valve's disc remains directly inside the fluid stream even when fully open, using it in a micro-bore line creates a massive, permanent restriction. This chokes fluid velocity, drops the flow coefficient (Cv) drastically, and risks trapping pipe scale or minerals. For lines under 2 inches, FlowBiz Forged Steel Ball or Globe Valves are used instead.
A: A wafer valve simply slides between two pipe flanges, held in place by long bolts that clamp both flanges together; if you remove the pipe on one side, the valve falls out. A Lug Butterfly Valve features integrated threaded bolt holes. It bolts directly to each pipe flange independently. This allows you to completely disconnect and service the piping on one side of the valve while keeping the other side pressurized under full dead-end service.
A: Standard concentric butterfly valves utilize soft polymer liners like EPDM or PTFE to achieve a tight seal, which limits continuous operating temperatures to approximately 120C to 180C. For high-temperature utility steam lines or thermal oil lines up to 400C, soft seats will degrade. For those severe thermal boundaries, FlowBiz Triple-Offset Metal-Seated Butterfly Valves must be specified.
A: SS304 (CF8) provides excellent structural strength and rust resistance for standard clear water loops, municipal networks, and mild industrial environments. However, if your pipeline carries highly corrosive fluids, salt water, or is installed in a marine environment like Porbandar, SS316 (CF8M) must be specified. SS316 contains molybdenum, which significantly increases resistance to localized chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.
