Trunnion ball: A trunnion ball is mounted on trunnions or pivot points, which allows it to rotate and seal against the valve body more effectively. Trunnion balls are often used in high-pressure or high-temperature applications.

L-port ball: An L-port ball has a port or opening in the shape of the letter "L, which allows for a flow pattern different from a standard ball valve. L-port balls are often used in diverting or mixing applications.
